Poor old Newcastle. It seems that no matter what they'll do - they are bound to fail. True, there were high expectations when Sam Allardyce was appointed, but optimism were not to be found when Newcastle found themselves dangerously close to the relegation zone. Then came Kevin Keegan and you could feel the winds of change, which vaporized quickly thanks to a long losing streak. Fortunately enough, King Kev and Newcastle managed to bounce back and finished the season in mid-table, but this does not make their future any brighter. The summer is being wasted on handling the Joey Barton saga, while owner Mike Ashley comes up with all sorts of strange ideas like players purchasing their own kits...
At the point it seems that Newcastle will not enjoy the best of seasons, but after failing to win their two matches with Derby County last season, anything will be considered as an improvement...
Bottom Line: Keegan is gone, but Newcastle's woes will end only when Ashley is gone.
