You never what kind of season they will have, nor how they will perform game to game. Last season in the Premier League, one week they drew at home to relegated Reading, and just a few days later they beat champions Manchester United.
They reached safety early on, but didn’t push on for a European place, the season before they flirted with relegation.
True, West Ham are not a team one would expect to fight for a Champions League spot, but considering the talent in their squad, West Ham should have done much better.
With Alan Curbishley gone and the surprising appointment of Gianfranco Zola, West Ham will try to maintain some sort of stability.
Bottom Line: West Ham need a good start, and must keep it going if they are to keep their fans happy this season.
